The Dangers of Believing You Know Everything About God
God has blessed us all immensely by granting us His inspired word. Through diligent study of this book, we can learn all we need to know of our Savior and Creator. There are, however, many things about God we will never know about until we’re gathered home with Him. In light of this, let’s consider the dangers we’ll find if we give into the temptation to make God small (not beyond man’s understanding at all). When God’s people acted like He was small they were then able to twist Him into something He was not. In the book of Amos God condemns Israel for their greed and cruelty, and in Amos 5:21-27 God declares his hatred of their worship. The Israelites have reduced God into someone who will tolerate their ritualistic worship and evil lives.
